The 1981 Dungeons & Dragons Expert Rules

The 1981 Dungeons & Dragons Expert Rules cover art shows a wizard watching the events depicted on the D&D Basic Set cover. I find this a clever way of depicting the fact that the Expert set is an enlargement and expansion upon the Basic rules and the world it encompasses.

In addition to the color cover art to the 1981 D&D Expert Set, Erol Otus also contributed eight black and white interior illustrations.

This spectre remains one of my all-time favorite depictions of the Undead.
